The One With Tom Cruise

This is going to be a pretty short post today, I don't really have much to talk about but I do have a fun story I want to tell. Everyone comfy? Good!

So yesterday, I was finishing up a movie pitch when I take a look at the cast. I asked myself "Is this really the order of the cast I want?" and I switched it up. I'm not going to tell you what the film is about, that's still seasons away, but I will tell you the name of one actor who's in it. Tom Cruise.

Tom Cruise

There's a reason he's one of the biggest stars in all of LRF, he has made a name for himself by being in some of the finest action movies ever created. From the Splinter Cell series, to Alan Wake, to more recently the Amaedroa Strain and Heights, Tom Cruise knows how to sell a movie and get people in the theatre. Every project he stars in is special.

So most of the original cast is rejected, which I figured was going to happen. But Tom accepts, however he gives me a few requests for casting. Again, I had a feeling it would happen cause it's Tom Cruise, he's a LRF legend, if anyone deserves the right to help pick the cast, it's him. Everything goes pretty smoothly, nothing to noticeable at first...but then I see him mention Tessa Thompson.

Now I had never heard of Tessa before today and out of curiosity, I decided to look her up. Turns out she's got a pretty solid resume outside of LRF and has been in a few movies with the studio. Upon taking a glance at her I realized, she could definitely star in a future project and I put together a new movie concept starring her and several others. I'm hoping to work on it some more as soon as possible, but what happened next was what truly sparked my appreciation for Tom.

Have I ever told you I have a document where I keep all my future projects? It's true. Inside one of my Google Docs, I keep a list of every movie I'd like to pitch for the studio someday. It's a huge list including some ideas I've had for years but have never been able to execute. I bring this up because after I made the Tessa movie, my imagination went on a ride, bringing back several old ideas and introducing new ones, including a couple starring actors who I feel have immense potential (Malina Weissman I feel could be on the same league as Mackenzie Foy if handled correctly). This continued until deep into the night and I consider it one of the best nights coming up with ideas I've had in a while.

All this, because Tom Cruise gave me a list of actors to consider. So thank you Tom for inspiring me to make several new projects in the span of just one day.

Until next time, this is Jacob Jones, signing out!
